“This school has been our village.”
When one mother first heard about Capstone Classical Academy, it was still just a vision. As a longtime homeschooling parent, she had been faithfully guiding her children’s education—but she sensed a need for something more: a place that could partner with her in both academic formation and Christian discipleship.
“I knew public school wasn’t the right fit for our family,” she recalls. “But I also knew I couldn’t do everything on my own. When I learned about Capstone, I felt called to be part of it.”
Today, her children—one in high school and one in middle school—are thriving.
A Distinctly Different Education
What first drew her in was the integration of faith and learning.
“I love that my children are being formed in virtue,” she shares. “They’re reading great books, receiving strong academic instruction, and learning how to think, speak, and live well. It’s not just about academics—it’s about who they are becoming.”
Her daughter has experienced this in tangible ways:
“I like that there’s structure—you always know what you’re doing,” she says. “And having time each day focused on faith really strengthens my walk with the Lord.”
Growth That Goes Beyond the Classroom
In just a few short years, the transformation has been profound.
“They’ve grown academically, yes—but also mentally and spiritually,” their mother says. “Their love for Christ has deepened. And I have peace knowing that while I’m at work, they are being poured into by teachers who love the Lord and care deeply about them.”
Her son points to the influence of those teachers:
“They know how to teach different kinds of students,” he explains. “And they’re preparing us not just for school, but for life—how to carry ourselves, how to think, how to persevere.”
Made Possible Through Generosity
As a single parent, she is candid about what makes this opportunity possible.
“This is something I simply couldn’t do on my own,” she says. “The scholarship support we receive has opened the door for my children to be here. I am beyond grateful.”
Her son shares that gratitude as well:
“Not many students get an opportunity like this,” he says. “It makes me want to work harder and make the most of what’s been given to me.”
A Blessing for the Entire Family
The impact of Capstone has extended beyond the classroom—and beyond the children.
“This experience has shaped me as a mother,” she reflects. “There’s a sense of awe and gratitude that comes from being part of a community like this.”
She has also seen that formation reflected in her children’s character. After serving at a school event, her daughter was complimented by a community member for her attentiveness and poise.
“It means a lot when people recognize those things,” her daughter says. “It reminds me to keep living out what we’re being taught.”
“Of course, as a parent, that makes you proud,” her mother adds. “But I know it’s not just from me. It’s from this community. Raising children takes a village—and this has been ours.”
More Than an Education
To families considering a school like Capstone, her encouragement is simple:
“This isn’t just about knowledge. It’s about forming the heart, shaping character, and preparing young people to live meaningful lives. I’m deeply thankful my children are here.”
