Golden Gryphon Band

Capstone is blessed by a robust band program that includes a beginner band for grades 5-6, the Gryphon Band for grades 6-8, the Golden Gryphon Band for grades 9-10, the Capstone Band for grades 11-12, and the extracurricular Jazz Band, which is available to qualifying students across grade levels. Band rehearsals and lessons take place during the school day. At Capstone, band is entirely curricular and is not treated as an extra class. The academy is deeply committed to its band program.

Golden Gryphon Choir

At Capstone, singing is a big part of every school day. Even classes that are not music classes may include song to start or finish the class. Choir is a daily class that includes not just performance but instruction in music theory and music appreciation. Lower school choir, junior high choir, and senior high choir all meet during the school day and perform throughout the year at various events, with two major events at Christmas and Easter. In the junior high program, the choirs are split into boys' and girls' choirs to better instruct each gender at their unique stage of development.

Golden Gryphon Theatre Troupe

Capstone's theatre program is an expression of our commitment to the importance of telling Good stories-that is, stories that reflect the Goodness, Truth, and Beauty of God's great story of Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration and Glory. Our theatre productions include contemporary and classic works that present the spectrum of the human experience with a desire to present the world as it really is. Theatre, though outside of the scope of the school day, is a curricular program at Capstone, so the principles of classical Christian education apply to the culture and content of Golden Gryphon Theatre.
