Head Coach: Katy Swenson kswenson@capstoneclassical.com

Swenson serves as the Spirit Squad Coach at Capstone, launching the school’s Cheer Team and Mascot Crew. She grew up in Eden Prairie, MN, where she was a member of the Eden Prairie Pom Squad—the only nationally competing high school team in the state at the time, who eventually won a national championship title.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from North Dakota State University, where she headed the NDSU Dance Team for seven years. During that time, she gained experience training athletes for game-day environments and led the team to a second-place national finish.

Swenson is currently stunt-certified through the North Dakota Cheer Coaches Association and believes that cheer uniquely unites athletes, requiring a high level of trust and vulnerability to stunt safely. This trust breaks down barriers and forges deep connections between students, while performing develops leadership, confidence, and professionalism. She is excited to develop this exciting program at Capstone.
