Cracking the Code: Algebra II Breakout Box Challenge

Last week, our Algebra II students put their knowledge of functions to the test with a Breakout Box challenge!

Working in teams, students put their knowledge of functions to the test as they solved clues, cracked codes, and worked to unlock their boxes. Every team successfully opened its locked box, making for an exciting and rewarding way to put classroom learning into practice.

Throughout their current unit, students have been studying functions and learning how to represent, analyze, and interpret them in different ways. They have practiced determining the domain and range of a function, evaluating functions at specific points, and interpreting graphs in real-world contexts. They have also explored operations on functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

The Breakout Box activity brought these concepts together in a hands-on challenge that required students to apply their understanding, think critically, and work collaboratively. To unlock each box, teams had to use their mathematical knowledge to solve the problems and uncover the codes needed to advance.

Breakout Box challenges are a classroom favorite, and yesterday's activity was no exception. Congratulations to our Algebra II students on a job well done!

We invite you to see our classrooms in person and discover an education rooted in Christ, grounded in timeless wisdom, and designed to cultivate a lifetime of learning, virtue, and purpose.
