Faculty and Staff
Called to serve.
Our Team
Our teachers, administrators, and staff are at the heart of our mission to engage students to acquire wisdom, cultivate virtue, and pursue rigorous academic study within a Christian worldview. They have all successfully completed a rigorous evaluation process in order to be selected for our team. They serve as stewards of a great legacy in classical Christian education.
Ms. Natalie Roisum
Classroom Aide
Natalie Roisum graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Biblical Studies from Faith Baptist Bible College. During the 2023-2024 school year, Natalie served as the classroom aide in Capstone's 2nd grade classroom and was also our head volleyball coach.
Natalie is thankful for her own Christian education. She views teaching as a ministry and is hoping to impact children for Christ as a part of the ministry at Capstone.
Natalie works as the worship coordinator and sings and plays guitar for worship services at Brookdale Baptist Church. She is also part of several other ministries there, including leading children’s church and assisting with an English Language Learners program. In her free time, Natalie enjoys solving Rubik's cubes and spending time with extended family at her grandpa’s farm.
Mrs. Roxanne Madson
Third Grade Teacher
Roxanne is a lifelong North Dakotan, raised on a farm with her eight siblings. She received an elementary education degree and a kindergarten license from MSUM and has taught for 14 years in the JPII Catholic Schools.
Her desire to join the Capstone community began by learning about the classical Christian model of education. She is drawn to its intentional pursuit of what is Good, True, and Beautiful and its goal of forming critical thinkers and articulate communicators. She feels it will be a great gift to participate in a community so clearly striving to draw students closer to Jesus through education.
Roxanne and her husband, Brian, are members of Sts. Anne & Joachim church. They have been married for 26 years and are raising six children from 8 to 23 years of age. Their family is often playing board and card games or on a bike ride. In her spare time, Roxanne enjoys reading, scrapbooking and baking.
Ms. Teresa Moenkedick
3rd Grade Teacher
Teresa Moenkedick graduated from MSUM with an Elementary Education major and a math minor. Teresa has four years of teaching experience, ranging from Kindergarten to middle school. She is excited about a new way of teaching in the classical way, delving deeper into the truth, beauty, and goodness of God.
Teresa is a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fargo. She cantors at Mass, puts on Summer Saints and Virtues camp for kids, and has served as music coordinator. Teresa has five siblings, all of whom are married with children, making her the favorite auntie of 15 nieces and nephews with two on the way! In her free time, Teresa enjoys spending time in the great outdoors, sports, cooking, deepening her faith through prayer and study, and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Beth Ustanko
4th Grade Teacher
Beth Ustanko earned her B.A. in Elementary Education from Concordia College and her M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from St. Catherine University. She completed her coursework for her Gifted and Talented Endorsement at the University of North Dakota. Her 23 years of teaching experience includes teaching in the Moorhead, West Fargo, and Fargo Public School Districts. Beth began her career as an elementary classroom teacher, and for the past 10 years, she has served as a gifted education specialist.
Beth is excited to teach in a classical Christian setting. She sees many parallels between the teaching methods of classical education and gifted education, first and foremost being an emphasis on thinking. Beth appreciates how classical education promotes a love of learning and scholarship. She is also looking forward to teaching in a school which embraces Christian faith, and she is looking forward to sharing God’s truths with her students.
Beth and her husband live in West Fargo, and together they have a daughter who attends Concordia College. Outside of school, some of her favorite activities are reading and attending her daughter’s orchestra concerts. In addition, Beth has volunteered on the North Dakota Association for Gifted Children board since 2018.
Mrs. Kendra Kudrna
4th Grade Teacher
Kendra Kudrna holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Dakota. She has five years of teaching experience, including 4th and 5th grades in Dickinson and West Fargo.
Mrs. Kudrna was grateful to serve as a substitute teacher at Capstone in the 2023-24 school year. During that time, she was deeply encouraged by the intentional way the classical model cultivates lifelong learners and ignites curiosity in all that is true and beautiful. She believes God has placed it on her heart to return to the classroom full time and share her joy for learning with her students. Kendra strives to cultivate peace, humility, and goodness in her students so that they may carry those virtues with them outside of the classroom.
Kendra lives in West Fargo with her husband Mitch and their three boys. They love to hike, ski, and travel to the mountains to explore God’s beautiful creation together. In her free time, Kendra loves to read, organize, paint, and play sports with her family. She looks forward to building relationships and growing in her faith alongside colleagues, students, and their families.
Mrs. Molly Wobbema
Fifth Grade Teacher
Molly Wobbema holds bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education from Valley City State University and Child Development and Family Science from NDSU. After teaching kindergarten and first grade in the West Fargo school system, she homeschooled her children for seven years.
While homeschooling, Molly did a deep dive into classical education. She served as a tutor and director of a classical homeschool community, where she helped others classically educate their own children, for five years. Mrs. Wobbema is excited to be able to help 5th graders cultivate wisdom and virtue as they begin to desire more dialectic conversations.
Molly and her husband, Jordan, love to hike, snowshoe, ice skate, and play outside with their four children. They live in West Fargo and attend Calvary Church in Moorhead. In her free time, Molly loves to experiment with sourdough, spend time in her garden, and read.
Mrs. Kaylie Young
Sixth-Eighth Grade Teacher
Kaylie comes to Capstone after teaching for 12 years in Enderlin and Casselton. She earned her B.A. in English Education from NDSU and her M.S. in Education with an emphasis in English from Valley City State. She is excited to be able to educate students in a classical model that also shows the centrality of Jesus Christ.
For Kaylie, good teaching is modeled after the greatest teacher, Jesus himself. She believes that through his words, she and her students learn what it is to truly become wise and virtuous. She strives to be a living example of Christ in fulfillment of the Great Commission. Her prayer for her students is that they learn and grow and become smarter than her.
She and her family are members of Kindred United Methodist Church, where she leads the Sunday school program. She and her husband raise three beautiful children and live on a farm in southeast North Dakota.
When Kaylie is not teaching at school or church, she loves to travel, read, and craft. She loves to learn, so her interests often shift to what she is learning about at the moment.
Mr. George Roughead
Latin and History Teacher
George Roughead received his Bachelor of Science degree in Composite Social Studies Education from the University of North Dakota. He has been working in education since 2011 and spent that time in his hometown of Grand Forks. George briefly taught 7th grade and high school but spent the vast majority of his time teaching 8th grade. In addition to classroom instruction, George coached high school football for 15 seasons. He has also coached soccer and wrestling.
At Capstone, Mr. Roughead hopes to support the development of students’ capacities for the ethical and academic. He can’t wait to help guide students to become well-rounded citizens who think independently and deeply about the hardest questions we face.
George moved to Fargo in 2021. He and his wife, Jordan, attend Salem Church in Moorhead where Mr. Roughead is a part of the library ministry and softball team. In his free time, he enjoys reading, playing video and board games, and hiking—but none of those things simultaneously.
Mr. Lucas James
Upper School Math and Science
Lucas James is a graduate of North Dakota State University with a degree in Exercise Science/Kinesiology. He returned to NDSU to obtain a Master's in general science education. He spent three years teaching at Shanley before moving to Horace High School. Lucas has coached Track & Field and Basketball at Fargo North, Shanley, and Horace.
After learning about classical education, Lucas was excited to find Capstone right here in Fargo. He desires to educate in a way that fosters the development of the whole student and that sparks the wonder of the world that God created around us.
Lucas and his wife, Brynn, have a 2-year-old daughter, Norah. They attend Bethel Church in Fargo. Brynn helps with children's programming on Sunday mornings and also leads a book study for the women's ministry. Lucas has been involved with Bethel's music ministry, including previously serving as a worship leader.
Mrs. Rachel Rebischke
Music Teacher
Rachel comes to Capstone after teaching for two years in China and then six years in West Fargo. She earned her B.A. with a major in vocal music education from Concordia College. She is excited to serve at Capstone and to share the beauty of our Savior through the beauty of music.
Rachel sees teaching as her calling to love her neighbor as herself as she gives students the tools they will need to go out and serve in their communities. She sees her students as unique image-bearers of God and places a high value on respect and dignity for each student to maximize learning in her classroom. She is excited to teach at Capstone because the music curriculum emphasizes great composers and their masterworks before teaching notation. This makes sense to her, for why should students care about music notation if they have not learned how to listen, to appreciate, and to care about the beauty of music itself? And why care about any music if it can’t point to the beauty and goodness of God?
Rachel’s family attends Lutheran Church of the Cross, where she directs the choir and plays handbells. When she is not making music at school or at church, Rachel enjoys performing in community theatre and rereading her favorite books by J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis.
